Where to find DIY tube amp plans??

Can someone point me to a set of clear instructions on building a tube amp. I'm looking for concise instructions. Something with step by step directions. I'm not lookig for something that leaves a lot of variables for the builder to decide on. I really like GeneralGuitarGadgets tube screamer clone instructions, they lay out exactly how to clone a TS, THEN they tell you what you might want to change and why. I'm looking for a "Tube amps for dummies" type thing. (Although, the "...for dummies" series of books leave a bit to be desired...) Perhaps something that tells how to build a Fender "whatever" clone. I love putting things together myself, and can follow a good set of instructions, and would love to have a homemade amp that sounds good.

Can anyone recommend a book or website where I can find tube amp plans that don't assume the builder is already an electronics whiz? I know electronics to the point that I know what each component does on its own, but I don't know enough to design my own circuits.

David Allen of Allen Amps has what you are looking for, he offers several kits and his instruction manuals are very comprehensive and his kits go together without any problems.

A good place to learn what and why about guitar tube amps is to read the tech info at www.aikenamps.com. Plenty of good reading there. If you like the 18watt marshalls, you might want to try www.gdsamps.com. Graydon has some excellent kits also.

Register at the Forum at www.metroamps.com - they have step-by-step instructions about how to build their JTM45 kit (you can't see them without registering!)

PS: Oh, and you might want to pick up Dave Hunter's "The Guitar Amp Handbook", which has step-by-step instructions about building his Two-Stroke amp (a kind of modified Princeton).
