Li'l Dawg CS + AmpCabCo cab + JenNeo

Just add yer fave Tele or Strat and you will have a MATCH MADE IN TONE HEAVEN, and she looks mighty purty to boot ...

The Cab
Crafted by Mike (www.AmpCabCo.com), this is a Superb full tweed cloth covered 5F1 cab with a 10" baffle board (this is a free option over the standard 8" baffle board) and vintage chassis control cut out made for the Li'l Dawg Champster chassis. Besides its amazing quality, I can't stress what a great value this Champ cab represents, and here's the icing on the cake - $130/delivered!!! Even if you don't have a Champ chassis hanging around GET ONE of these cabs NOW!!!! You'll thank me profusely later, I promise!

The Amp Chassis
At my request, this is a prototype Champster Special chassis that Jim (www.LittleDawgAmps.com) built for me, that besides having a 15 watt PT and OT (allowing both 6V6 and 6L6 power tubes), the bias is switchable between cathode and fixed - you can see the bias trim pot on the left side of the eyelet board, and the stem of the bias mode select switch to the left of the speaker jack. I haven't fully tested the fixed bias setting yet, or A/B'ing with my other Champster Special, nor checked the performance of different power tubes, but in cathode mode the amp is super quiet and just reeks with Major Tone Booty!

The Speaker
Ahhhhh, fast becoming my fave - a 10", 8ohm, 100 watt JenNeo - oodles of power, allows that sweet 5F1 Class A tone to drip out with no after taste coloration, no farting out, no cone cry, no nonsense. Cranked to the max and fed with a righteous single coil pup or two, and you will be as close to Tone Heaven as mortally possible. I gare-on-tee.

Now to find the time to take it all apart and apply the obligatory vintage tweed shader coats ... that will take some time, partly 'cause it's just too fun to stop playing!

I got a Jensen Neo 12-100 cab I use a lot. I still prefer my 5F1's through a Jensen AlNiCo 15" P15N... man, no way to lose whichever way you cut it ;)

looking at that tweed cabinet has got me gassing for a nice low watt champ with a 10 speaker.
i'm intensely happy with my kalamazoo reverb 12, the thing is incredible.
but the thought of one of jim's li'l champs to match its bigger brother is compelling.

must resist...must resist

Merry Christmas all
