I used a Weber C12N. I forget the current designation. I liked it a lot.

I'd email Ted Weber and have a chat about the tone you're looking for, what guitar/s you have etc. He'll recommend something based on your likes and wants.

If you check on the Fender Forum there's a ton of info on that subject, and all Blues Jr. matters.

Why do you want to change the speaker?
I was generally pleased with the sound of the amp. It was a little too bright sounding.
I modified the bass tone stack as per a web posting and the amp sounds much better.
Our group did a recording this past week and today I got a chance to listen to the tracks. I was blown away by the sound of the guitar/amp combination.
I am using an Epi 56 Gold top reissue. My Strat and Tele are sitting at home.
The tone mod lets more bass through at any setting and gets rid of the boxy sound. The cap cost about a buck $CDN, a lot cheaper than a speaker.

I've had 2 different speakers in mine, and liked them both. Right now I have a Hellatone (Celestion 30 that's been worjked over), before that it was a Reverend All-Tone (Joe Naylor design). I was looking for a more "rock" sound, instead ogf the cleanish Fender sojund, hence the change.

They put Jensen C12N's in the Blues Junior NOS Tweed amps, and they seem to get great reviews.

Thanks for the input folks. I'm kind of going back an forth with it. It really does sound pretty good at the moment (stock except for JJ tubes). But I'm a bit of a tweaker... :-)

throw a weber ceramic blue dog in there -- I love this speaker in this amp. Really cleans up the high end, plus more efficiency = louder. Great combo.

If you like a clean, punchy sound the Jensen ceramics are good, if you like a real bluesy overdriven sound, but with a sweet edge the Emmi Red Fang's are hard to beat. Really shine when dimed out.
