IMO, there are no magic guitar cab dimension numbers, I like to build 'em a bit more roomy as far as length and height, enuf that the speaker(s) aren't cramped, and a bit deeper than the typical combo depth. So, I recommend using the length and height that suits yer taste, and go with an 11-1/4" depth (a 12" stock pine board) and you'll be just fine 'n' dandy, I promise.
I'm building a "compact" 2x10 pine cab right now for a 35 watt custom tube head, and the inside dimensions are 21-1/2" long and 20-1/4" high. The back will be convertible for either fully closed or ported. Using 10" pine boards for a depth of 9-1/4". It'll house a pair of 100w 10" JenNeo's.
