Hughes and Kettner Edition Tube
Anyone have one?
I'm curious how they are in comparison to, say, a Blues Junior. And how heavy are they? The official weight from the website is 24kg...that's 54 pounds....but that seems pretty heavy for a 20w 'lightweight' amp as described elsewhere. I saw another place where it said 16kg (much like a BJ). |

Well, can't help you with the weight, never lifted one...
But my favorite local guitar store has one of those for testing guitars and pedals - and I like its clean sound (never tried it dirty) - very full, warm, lush, with astoningishly much bass (for an EL84 amp of such a small size); I'd say the BJr has more bite and twang, abut also sounds thinner, in comparison (though I haven't tried them side-by-side). BTW, they have closed-back cabs (with tuned ports, if I'm not mistaken), that's probably why they have such a fat sound, and are a bit heavier...
