tube differences??
The Bassman Ten I recently bought has the original tubes, RCA 6L6GC's. I have another set of Rca 6L6GC's that look like the same tube, except one set is 3/8 to 1/2 inch longer than the other set. Anyone know the difference, If any? Thanks.

RCA, like other vendors, as well as making tubes, bought some from other manufacturers with their logo. Also, the machines changed as did manufacturing processes. I think some later RCAs, shared their internal cooling structures with 7027s which are pretty similar other than a couple of linked pins. This made them a little different.
I have some sets of black-glass radiotrons which are marked identically, but some have taller envelopes than others, they all test the same and work similar as far as I can tell.
