Fender Twin Amp Volume Box?

Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone had any experience with this device:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/Omnisonic-Tube-Am...QQcmdZViewItem

and also just what it does/is it safe to use.

Thanks.

Edit: Turns out after reading about the device on Harmony Central and the Fender Discussion Page that the seller originally linked is stealing credit for creation of this device. As a result I am changing the link to a seller of the device who is actually giving credit where credit is due.

For anyone interested in this volume box, if the seller does not reference Steve Dallman from the Fender Discussion Forums, who came up with the design, then DO NOT BUY IT! (IMHO). The product is vastly inferior in build construction and you will be vastly overcharged on shipping. Again, IMHO. (Hope that covers any legal bases. Seems to be kind of a Bill Lawrence thing going on).

It's safe to use - and there's hardly anything in it.
jack-in, volume-pot, jack-out - that's it.

last time I orderd tubes I also put one of these DIY-kits in the basket.

It does the same and a little detail more, which makes it more versatile.

Are they the same device, though? The Volume box goes through the amp's effects loop, while the one you linked to says it goes between the guitar and amp for setting soloing levels.

I see Carls Custom Shop also offers a model which is similar to mine - Amp Channel
and he says:
This unit is similar in design to my very popular "Volume Box"
https://www.carlscustomguitars.com/d...hg?productId=2

so it does the same thing. you can use it as a volume box between Pre and power amp or as lead stomp box.
mine has a battery, but it only powers the status LED.
I used a battery that my other pedal said was empty - now how much current does a LED consume? something next to nothing I guess, lol.
