I can't believe I like it!

Hi all,
I have been needing a small practice amp for home since I want to leave my biger amp at church to save my already bad back. I simply can't carry it anymore. And it is only 45 pounds. Anyway, I went to Guitar Center with my sister and nephew to get my nephew a new guitar. (HE GOT A MEXICAN TELE!!!!!) Nice! Anyway She knew I needed a small amp and I was looking at some. I have always like Marshal amps and always hated Fender amps. I know, I know. Anyway I have always liked the looks of blackface amps with silver speaker clothe and especially the small Frontman 25R. It seemed to cheap to be any good. Well I tried it at the store and it sounded horable at first, but then I noticed the eq was set in a way I wouldn't like it. So I adjusted it and fell in love. I can not believe this little $139 amp sounds this good. And is loud too. I am thrilled. My sister bought it for me. WOW! And in March she bought me a Strat, which I love. Either my ears have changed or the Fender amps have gotten better. I think it is both. And they didin't have anymore so I took the floor model and got a $25 dollar discount. So this is the best $114 dollar amp I have heard in a while. Just to be sure of things before I bought the Fender, I tried a Marshall in the same price range. Only 15 watts and a 8" speaker. It sounded like garbage. I am happy with my cheap little Fender. Maybe I should save up for a big Fender now. Hmmm.

Happy Fender man,

Bill

I don't see why not....I bought the R.C. because of price. I couldn't rationalize a speaker almost the price I paid for the amp.

Thanks,

Check the impedance on the speaker you have now...the Celestion is only available in 8 or 16 ohms. If they made a 4 ohm version it might make a cool Champ replacement. FWIW, I like the MOD series Jensens...they're dirt cheap and sound good in open back cabinets.

The one in it now is 8 ohm. I will see about trying one of these someday soon.

Thanks,

Bill
