Any experience on cleaning Tweed?
I just picked up a neat little '56 Champ that is in pretty solid shape. The metal has some surface rust that will mostly come off, and the wood is in great shape. The tweed is pretty dirty, though. Has anyone out there ever done a thorough tweed cleaning job? Any suggestions or hints? Any responses would be appreciated.
Thanks, Dean

Cleaning Tweed
I once cleaned the tweed of a late 50's Harvard with woolite and water and it kind of changed the character of the tweed. Maybe what was behind the tweed bled through or something. It still looked OK but it did change...got a little darker and less fuzzy...
Be careful... |
