Won't that kind of money get you in the ballpark of an original? An original will only appreciate. A knockoff, even a quality imitation, may not appreciate. Whether or not a copy holds its value is only important if you decide to sell it.

That's basically what a boutique deluxe costs - or, a vintage amp.
Here's another: http://www.toneking.com/
I have a Meteor II - essentially a BF deluxe and a mid powered Tweed.
2 chs, ft. switchable. Verb, trem, 1/2 power switch (40/22).

My amp guy has made about 3 of these already for several guys. He knocks these things about in about a week. He's got a huge collection of NOS tubes, and he'll load up his repro amps with them for no extra charge. Here's 2 different amps he made, one loaded with a Emi. RW&B, and the other with a Hellatone G12H30.

Ouch. Just get a RI. PTP don't mean anything tonally. As someone who builds almost all of my own amps, PTP only means ease of mod - until they need maintenance many YEARS down the road.

If its only for sound, get a DRRI (with an appropriate speaker upgrade)... if its for resale/collector value, invest in an original vintage piece.

I built an Allen Accomplice with two Weber alnico speakers in it. The amp kicks butt!

The Rivera Clubster 25 is sort of a modern take on the DR (or hot-rodded PR) idea, quite portable and affordable for "boutique." I just scored a used/mint one for $600, and they are now out with a 1X12 model called the Doce.
