Love Thy Neighbor... Even More!

At last check, I was prepared to give my neighbor Billy the $800 from the sale of a bass for his nice re-capped late 69 Deluxe Reverb. I had thought that was the price we had agreed upon. When I finally went to give him the cash a couple of days ago, I found myself in the middle of an unexpected haggle. No, the other way around. He refused to take $800 citing the need for new tubes and speaker and the lack of a dreaded eBay transaction. When we were done only $600 left my pocket. A Weber 12F150, JJ 6V6's and GZ34, Tung-Sol 12AX7's and EH 12AT7's later, my $800 is gone and I don't think I could have spent it better.

Nothing has made me want a Deluxe Reverb more than when quackerz laid down this pic and the story behind it...

Damn. Even the grill cloth looks hole-free.

Good score quackerz!!!
