Red Knob Twin $599. Worth it?
Howdy,
My local guitar shop has a red knob "The Twin" for $599. It's in VG condition. I played a Tele through it and she sparkled. FWIW, I'm quite happy with my red knob Super 112 which I've had since '92. I didn't sample the overdrive or gain channel as this feature doesn't interest me. Like my Super 112 it was made for single coil p/u's (read Fenders!) and I'm impressed with the big, clean tone. Is this amp worth a closer look at this price? I'd have to do the "lay-away" thing, as I'm cash strapped; so my bargaining power would seemingly be diminished as a result. Please advise. BTW, my other two amps are a '68 Vibro Champ and a '65 Princeton (BF), the latter really doesn't turn me on that much. Eggman |

Henry Kaiser prefers them on the road; he says they're the closest thing he's found to a Dumble clean sound.
