Mesa Lone Star?
I played my American Deluxe Strat through this amp today. I'm thinking about trading my Fender Hot Rod DeVille 410 in on it. I'm going back tomorrow with my Gretsch 6120, Setzer and my Baja Tele.
Has anyone had any experience with this Amp? Res |

I haven't personally
...played the Lone Star, but a friend of mine has one and loves it.
I have an F-30 30-watt combo that I absolutely love. Mesas kick ass and are built like tanks.

I have a LSC head with a matching 2x12 open back cab. I love it!
The clean channel is stellar, and the reverb may be mesa's best ever. The gain channel may seem a little dark and bassy at first, but with some tweaking, you can find many useful tones, ranging from slight breakup to heavy dirt, and everything inbetween. I understand the new model has 100-50-10 watts. 10 being a new feature, class A in that setting. There are many ways to tailor your tone with this amp, from tweed or normal power, tube rectifier or silicone diodes, wattage selection for either channel, a drive switch, and solo boost. I have come to view it as a keeper. Just don't expect to figure everything out at the first sitting. |
