Adding a 2nd Amp

I recently had the opportunity to once again run a two amp configuration and the lust for that tone has returned. My #1 amp is the 18watt GDS Marshall running 2x12 Celestion Blues and this little sucka is LOUD. I've named this amp ZoSo.

I'd like some suggestions on a 6L6 or 6V6 amp kit I could build or buy prebuilt (Ceriatone) where I would put into a matching cabinet that would also push 2x12 Celestion Blues and be able to run well with my ZoSo. The Celestion Blue speakers are critical because they really let an amp itself shine thru.

What suggestions do you have? This forum ROCKED with comments about unique colored teles and we're in the process of playing with different colors, but that applecaster is in the lead!

A Marshall JTM45 runs on 6L6's. Can fit similar cabs.

Celestion Blues are awesome speakers. They seem to mute a little bit of the highs and have a creamier midrange.

i recently received one of STF's dual 6V6 "Tweed Deluxe" heads.....they also offer a "Super Champ" head (dual 6V6, parallel single ended configuration)
they're available in kit form as well as ready to go, and well worth checking out, i.m.h.o.

In my mind, the natural complement to the 18-watt would be a 5E3 Deluxe, unless you want amp #2 to be a clean amp for A-B switching.

True, for two dirty amps a Deluxe would be nice.

If you're looking for a Clean amp, try the JTM45... or of course a 6L6 flavored Fender :)

You could always use Ceratones 5E7 Bandmaster. Or the Super Amp and Pro Amp. They are all the same thing. And usually have pretty nice grit, but even cooler cleans. They are twin 6L6 amps. They sortof have cleans like a Tweed Twin.

Those are pretty much the same circuit as my tweed Twin I built (the 5D8 circuit)!

It's got cleans for sure, but dimed through a Jensen AlNiCo 15" - Rock and F*ing Roll! Even for punk or lightweight-metal (especailly through 2x12" Celestion Vintage 30s).

I do play really loud, so maybe my "cleans" require a bit more heavy lifting :)

I think my 5D8 may just be my favorite amp in my pack...

I could see several interesting amp combos there. The tweed deluxe would be great. For more tonal contrast, try the 3x10 bandmaster or some variant of the 1x15 Pro.
