Starting my Princeton Reverb build!

OK, I am finally starting my freakish Princeton Reverb with 6L6's build.

I've had the eyelet board and Allen transformers (www.allenamps.com) mounted to the Vibro Champ chassis I got from CancerLeoCam (www.GomezAmps.com) for a while now...

Finally got the parts all ordered and I will start to finish the amp soon.

I need to drill another control pot hole for a Dwell knob on the huge reverb pan, which is a little challenging on CancerLeoCam's heavy duty chassis. I had to do the same on my Marshall "Deluxe" 18 watt 6V6 build into a Champ chassis (which sounds AWESOME).

I'll be installing a bias adjustment trim pot so I can get the most out of these 6L6's - yes, I said 6L6's!

Next I'll build two matching 1x12" Musicmaster Bass style cabinets and I'll have my onstage "Clean" and "Dirty" twin amps... these poor neo speakers have been waiting for a home for too long!

Hey, this is interesting!

Be sure to post pictures, if you can.

Good luck!

Already have a few early pics:
http://www.geocities.com/ashhennessy77/prince.html

These chassis from CancerLeoCam are pretty rockin little tanks. The idea of a tiny Champ sized 18watt or 6L6 Princeton Reverb just kills me!

My 18watt needs a few minor tweaks, but it sounds great!

The sound clips of the Firefly and Hi-Octane amp builds are not that good compared to how those amps really sound. The Hi-Octane when dimed was too loud to record at home, but it sounds very much like a dimed JCM800 50watt - great amp.

I'll be redoing all of the sound clips as well as adding some new ones (my Champs as well as my favorite amp, my tweed Twin head).

Hey Johnny, sounds like a killer project! Did you change anything to the basic PR design (schematic) to accomodate the 6L6s? Any changes to the phase inverter?

Johnny,

Did you do the "Paul C" mod to the phase inverter? It makes a little bit of a difference.

BIASING:
I'll be changing the fixed bias to adjustable fixed bias (HoffmanAmps.com also shows this mod for PR's).

This will allow me to fine tune the Biasing.

PHASE INVERTER
I'll be doing the "Paul C mod" as zook asked :)

I've already upgraded the transformers for 6L6's.
