I've played some older Traynor amps that have held up well for 30-40 year old ampd. Sound like a cross between Marshall and Fender amps. Don't know about the Traynor YCV40T though.

I got a YCV50.

It has a great clean tone and the overdrive also has a great tone.

All the discussions about Blues Jr. mods kind of put me off that option. When I tried the Blues Jr. in the store it made a good first impression, but I wasn't sure it could cover the darker HB overdriven end of the spectrum. I would consider the Blues Jr. or other options as a second amp for getting a Fender kind of sound. JohnnyCrash has covered the Blues Jr. alternatives quite well in other threads.

My buddy, Ray's got a early 70's Traynor 2X12 combo. Beats the living hell outta' it and still runs like a Swiss watch. Awesome amp with great LOUD tone!

The new Traynor's are good amps. I've had one. Good for clean and dirty, easy to get good sounds out of them. Great choice for the money.

The old ones are GREAT and built like TANKS!

My first real amp back in '74 was a Traynor YGL-3.
Wish I still had it!

Teleman65 is right, part Fender - part Marshall sound.

Oh yeah, back in the 70's I had a Bassmaster with a twin 15 cab that was a beast as a guitar amp. It was built like a 50's Buick, a back-breaker, but loud, meaty, and indestructible. And if there was no PA, I'd run my vocal mike through one channel and my guitar through the other! Those were the days...
