Amp stand recomendations?

Anybody use an amp stand for giging? What do you
recommend?

I'm trying to get away from the milk crate and the folding
chair.

Make a tilt back leg out of 1x2 oak

File a groove in the top so the edge of the amp won't slip off.

1x2 oak is about 85 cents a linear foot at Home Depot.

I bought one of the oak jobs off MF. It's pretty nice, but the finish was kinda crappy. For ~$50, I'd expect more.

It does fold up nicely, and seems pretty sturdy. Fit's my DR perfectly.

Ultimate Amp-150 Genesis from M.F.

I use to use one of these and they are great. Don't let the light weight look fool you, it holds 75 pounds. Three way adjustable angle, compact fold up. Here's the M.F. link:http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/.../base_id/51665

Amp stand

I liked the Ultimate for it's compact size, folds up nice, but these other two would be better if you want the height. Heck they're all good.

Ultimate for me, too

For the same reasons as telest above: folds down to 18" for easy transport in my gig case. I've used mine for a couple of years now, and it's very sturdy. The vertical pole is height adjustable, AND the top is threaded to accept a gooseneck or boom attachment for a mic -- nice design feature. - CS

Ax Man amp stand from MF

I own 2, sturdy build. Height adjustable: the stand gets the amp up off the floor at least a foot. The model I own has a "severe" nonadjustable tillt-back angle, at 45 degrees. I'm undecided whether that 45 degree angle is a drawback for live, un-mic'd peforming (I don't gig).
