Impedance?
When it's time to get a 2 x 12 for my Champ, this is the one I've considered the most lately: http://orangeamps.com/cabinets/2x12/
An Orange... with Vintage 30 Celestions. Since this cab is 16 ohms, would I have impedance issues running this from a Champ? I'm clueless on the whole compatibility thing so if there's a link somewhere here or elsewhere with an explanation for idiots, please point me in the right direction. I'm definitely way more retarded than Johnny Crash. |

A Champ wants a 4 ohm load. But you're in luck, two 12" 8-ohm speakers can be wired either in series to get 16 ohms, or in parallel to get 4 ohms.
So you can rewire it to work! Here's some good info (scroll down a little ways to get impedance info): http://www.webervst.com/sptalk.html Cheers, Tim

Heck, I'm not smart. Merely old! Spend enough time online on guitar bulletin boards, and eventually, like me, you'll absorb information too!
Cheers, Tim
