Brand new Blues Jr. - No Reverb

I just bought a new Blues Jr. and the reverb doesn't work. Anything I should check out before I take it back? If it's a small thing, I'd rather take care of it here, but if it is something bigger, it needs to be returned.

Any similar experiences or suggestions?

Thanks,
Dean

Blues Jr.

The reverb is solid state in that amp, just exchange the amp.

I bought a new BJr years back from MF and it arrived with a dead 'verb. Sent it back. Replacement arrived also with a no reverb - however, this one just had a disconnected spring tank wire and it was an easy fix. BTW, to my ears that BJr. digital 'verb was just awful - "flat and dry". I don't use reverb much, anyhoo.

There is no digital anything in a BJr. It does, however use solid state components (op-amp) for the reverb driver & receiver.

Yeah, it's got a spring tank, and it's s/s powered, not digital and surely not tube - still quite lackluster ... and IMO, an EH Holy Grail digital reverb pedal is a much better. To each their own and YMMV.

FWIW I bought a an amp last year with an IC driven spring reverb that didn't work when I auditioned it. I bought it anyway, had the dealer send it out for a factory authorized repair (dead IC, and back to me in less than 2 weeks). All OK since then (great amp and very good reverb).

As BC said, exchange it-if exchange is not possible you may luck out with a quick component replacement repair like I did,

Mik
