DR Z maz 18 jr NR 210 X 2.
I haven't played thru everything in the last 36 years, but I've owned or played thru a lot of excellent, and sometimes legendary amps. By far and away, I am happier with my two little Zs than any of the others. |

Lately I've been using a Friends' Velocette 10, it has just the right amount of breakup for my 335 and the 10" speaker keeps the sound bright. It is plenty Loud.
Other choice is my Peavy Classic 30 - I keep coming back to it and it always delivers (I put in a Celestion Vintage 30 that really made the amp breath).

Heather, I like your Marshall too and if I was to purchase a Marshall, that'd be the one.
I like Vox, Orange, Marshall, Sovtek and even one particular Randall. But I'm mostly a Fender guy.

Goodsell Super 17...1x12, 2xEL84.
Listen to one here: http://www.nowhereradio.com/mkg/singles I used my LP Studio on bridge pup for the two electric guitar parts, my Guild acoustic for the acoustic tracks. |

For product lineup..
Roland Their JC's , Blues Cubes, VGA's, and newest Cube series show they have a solid history of great amps at working man's prices. Peavey More Bandits have probably been on stages than any other model. 30's, Delta's,.... once again great products prices right. |

That's a Maz you're playing through? I'm curious how you have it set? I just picked up a Maz jr NR 2X10 & am trying out a bunch of variations...

![]() I've played and recorded with AC30's from the 80's and 90's. Just got a new AC30 CC2...what a great amp! I know it's gotten some knocks for poor quality control when they first released it, but seems like they've fixed most of that. I have an artist deal at GC, so I picked one up for $750 and it breaks up and ANY volume (for everyone who has experienced the sadness of having to lose their breakup factor because of stage volume...ahhh). I would put it head to head with an Orange AD30 any day (and have). Vox was smart and placed the master volume AFTER the pre-amp AND power stages. Therefore you can develop some of the delightful power-tube drive that is so sought after - without destroying the hearing of everyone within 500 yards. Besides that, nothing beats my '65 Twin Reverb for clean sounds. Nada. |

Allen Old Flame. Basically, it sounds like a great Fender amp. I've never played through anything better than the classic Fender circuit. I like the tweeds, but prefer the blackface stuff. I've played Riveras, Marshalls Vox and Roland. They are all history. Whatever gives you what you want is great. For me, its those old Fender Western Electric circuits that make me happiest.

I really like the early sixties Ampeg Jet. I've had two of them over the years, and they sounded great with a tele. A very different animal than a fender amp. If I recall, they were very "thick" sounding. Lots of mids and no highs. Volume, tone and vibrato knobs. Tele with a tube screamer sounded great through them. Now that I'm talking about them, I may have to find another. I love small combo amps, they seem to offer more wierdness and color than their larger counterparts.
In the meantime, my SFDR, 59 Bassman RI, and Pro Junior are no brainers for making a Tele sound good. Pete B. |

20, 1x12. Yeah, it's another Fender style amp, being basically voiced like a Deluxe Reverb. I bought it and it's become my #1 small venue amp. 'Nudder one I really like is the Carr Rambler, but I don't own the Carr....

Fender's never really done it for me in the amp department. I'm a die-hard Peavey guy. My favorites:
Triple X VTM 60 Bravo 112 5150 Combo, specifically mine because of the changes I've made. My favorite cabs are also Peavey, the Classic 412es to be specific. I had a big, detailed post typed up, but this GD site logged me out while I was typing so this is all for now. |
