Tube Amps for Dummies?

Can someone recommend a primer for tube amps? I am not interested in learning how to fix or build them. I just love the way they sound and would like to improve my understanding of the subject. I have no technical expertise, so I'm looking for one that explains things in plain English beginning with the basics. I saw one called the "Bonehead's Guide" which might fit the bill, but I thought I"d see if my fellow TDPRI'ers had any suggestions. Thanks, James

Tom Mitchell's 'How to Service your Own Tube Amp" is written in layman's terms and gives a good overall description of the components and functions.
