Bassman Tube recommendations?
CB is almost done with my BASSMAN clone and we've deciding on tubes...
What tubes would you recommend? THANKS! GZ34, also called the 5AR4 two 6L6GC or 5881 or KT66. two 12AX7 variety or three if you dont use a 12AY7 in the first stage. So, the classic is 12AY7, 12AX7, 12AX7 6L6 6L6 5AR4 or higher gain 12AX7 (x3) 6L6 6L6 5AR4

Nos 6l6wgb JAN Philips from angela for power tubes sound great in my tweed bandmaster clone. Try 12ax7, 5751 or 12ay7 in V1 according to taste for V2 & V3 Tungsram or Tesla 12ax7's are nice. IMHO YMMV.

Ordered Tubes today from TUBE DEPOT:
Tung-Sol 12AX7 = 3 JJ/Tesla 5AR4 = 1 Tung-Sol 5881 = 1 Matched Pair (I hope these are OK instead of the 6L6's!) If all goes well, Allah willing... I should get the TUBES in time and the AMP in time BEFORE Saturday's outside practice session.
