I honestly haven't played mine much since I received it a few weeks ago just because I've been so busy but that amp, for being as simple as it is, has been so much fun to mess around with. I wish it had a reverb tank though because reverb is like crack to me and I have to have it. I also wish that it would be more "bedroom" level friendly, the volume knob doesn't really have an inbetween from off to like a "5" but that is the nature of the amp so I can't complain there. I'm sure you'll like yours, I have to keep telling myself that I didn't pay boutique prices for this, I can't imagine how Jim gets away with craftsmanship of this caliber at such low prices. He definitely knows how to please a working musician for sure. I'm still breaking the speakers myself so I can't wait to hear where this amp settles in at.

Hello all,
Surprised that there weren't more responses to "big jimmy's" post.
I'm expecting my D-lux in a couple of days. I ordered the 14 watt one and sent Jim at L'il Dawg a Avatar Hellatone 30 to put in it. He said the speaker sounds great with a nice full tone. I play a '69 MIM thinline with Fralin steel posts (great pickup) in the neck and Lollar tele special in the bridge. My bedroom amp is a Univalve...I needed something for downstairs. Jim at L'il Dawg is one of a kind. First time I ever had something custom made for me...love the pics he sends as the amp progresses.

I'll post when I get to play it :D

deeeeeeeeeeee-lux

After having mine for a week or 2 now i will a quick review. First of the craftmenship is first rate. Not a flaw to be seen, built like a tank. I really love the the on/off/standby switch Jim installed. He got the color just right also. Aged but not to aged. Next is the sound. I also got the 14 watt cuz I am no superstar but wanted great tone without burnin down the house. Jim gave me a stock build with a few extras like a line out. Got the jensen pr12 just cuz jim says they sound good in the amp and it does. May try something else down the road. I wanted that gritty overdriven tone and thats just what I got. You can't buy a kit for what Jim gives you, at this price its the best deal going. Love it! Oh and Jim will be more than glad to work with you to get you where you want to be.
