Pics of my Standalone Reverb unit build

Top:

Yeah, I'm still learning how to improve my woodworking skills and tweed skinning.

Front:

Back:

I know, I take blurry pictures... at least you can't see how terrible the woodworking and tweed are! HAHA

When I'm done making a pine coffin for my 5D8 Twin and recording a track for this film project I'm involved with, I'll make some sound clips of my Reverb, my Champ, and my Twin.

The thing has TOO MUCH Reverb... for crazy Surf stuff it is PERFECT, but for "normal" touches of 'verb for Blues, Country, etc... it never goes above 2 or 3 on the Dwell knob. It's like a Reverb Nuke - you never know when you'll need shock and awe.

The funny thing is, I pretty much just recently started building... sort of. I'm still completely uneducated on so much stuff too!

Like I keep saying though - If a dumbass like me can do it, anyone can do it!

JohnnyC: Who needs education. You got reverb!! Nuff said.

A little bit of mine (Fender RI) goes a long way. I keep the tone down pretty low. Mix might go up to half, the main knob never above 3. What works for low guitar volume can be too intense for wide open.

Is that a kit

Or did you assemble from a parts list and scematic? If it's a kit whose is it? Nice job, now you've got me thinking and with my lack of soldering edumaction this could be a fun place to start.

The chassis and transformers & choke are W***r. He gave me the runaround for over a month so that's the closest I'll ever get to a kit again.

I've always built my own without any kits, this was about half kit in a way, I guess.

HAHA!

I'm not sure if I even want to go into business or not...

If I do, I'll let you know - then you can have a butchered model :)

Good, because until I get better at this stuff... that's ALL I can make! HAHA

They sound good, but look ugly as hell. The woodworking will come along with practise, I'm sure... so I'll keep practising :)

Maybe a Marshall JCM800 this time around, hmm...
