1968 Dual Showman Description...LOL

I just read this on the AMPWARES website. It is from a 1968 Fender Catalog describing the new Dual Showman Reverb. I found the description rather humorous...

"Fender adds ear splitting REVERB as a powerful new dimension to the famous Dual Showman and blasts it's way to center stage.

The "piggy-back"unit features two 15" J. B. Lansing speakers in a column which project unexcelled briiiance of tone over a large area. No band can afford to be without Fender's all new Dual Showman/Reverb, it's a gas."

In the words of Homer Simpson:

"mmmm...ear splitting reeeeeverb."

It's a gas indeed!

Ah yes...Steppenwolf!

I used to listen to that a lot. That is one "explosive" track.

I always liked "Snowblind Friend" from that album...

"You say it was this morning, when you last saw your good friend......"

Edited to add:

After looking up the lyrics, I just found out that it's actually a Hoyt Axton tune - I never knew that!

Yes ...

Had one in the mid 70's, sure it had "ear splitting reverb" but unfortunately it also had "gut busting" mobility and "wrist wrenching" weight !

Mind you, it was great to look behind you and see it standing next to the 4X12 Bassman, i used to feel like Don Rich !

Ya,... It's kinda like taking the refrigerator to a gig... mine stays home.
I also have a 67 2x12 bandmaster cab (the smaller one) w/ JBL's that I use with the DSR head... but I usually play through a BFSR.
