FA: Champ 'blackface' cosmetics

I posted a Fender Champ on eBay a couple of days ago. I see so much talk on this forum about these great little amps, I thought that I would let you guys know about it.

I originally thought it was a 1971 model. But some has pointed out that it is a 1973 model. The faceplate and speaker have been up graded. This is a short running auction, so check it out soon if you are interested.

Reverbbbbbb, just a thought. If you could somehow get those transformer numbers, it would make that amp bring the money. Considering the non-originality of the faceplate and speaker, numbers for original trannies would strengthen the auction activity.

Thanks for the motivation Wally. I got a flashlight and was able to create the contrast enough to read the numbers. This is what I added to the eBay description:

Quote:
It was asked what specific S/N. Based on the S/N, it appears that this amp is a 1973 make.

The chassis S/N is stamped A 37615.

The Output Transformer is stamped A010020 and 606-3-12.

The smaller transformer is stamped 022905 and 606-3-09.

These all appear to be original.

Those tranny numbers make the amp more substantial, imo. Good luck with the auction. If it sounds as good as it looks, it will make someone a fine amp.
