Got my Behringer GM110!
MF is blowing these out for $70. Grab One.
The Good: Awesome overdrive/distortion tones. I really like all three "amp models". Tweed, British and Cali. The Tweed gets some good power tube overdrive. The British is more midrangey marshall and takes some careful adjustments of the active EQ to get rigth with my tele's (gotta cut highs and boost some mids). The Cali is great. Nice smooth violin sound. The "cabinet models" are Flat, British and USA. Surprisingly, the british 4x12 is a lot brighter than the USA 2x12. The USA is just darker. Eash "amp model" has a Clean, High Gain and HOT setting. The Clean is ok on the Tweed, can't get loud cleans but I did not buy the amp for clean tones, I have my roland bluescube for warm tubey cleans. The High Gain and HOT are where the killer tones are. HOT adds more saturation. I get some great lead tones on the British and Cali models. The BAD: Clean tones are not that great and aren't that loud. It's 30 watts are no where as loud as the 30 watts on my roland bluescube. The FLAT speaker setting sucks. The UGLY: They revamped the cosmetics to have a black panel look, the older model had chrome panel and chicken head knobs. Older one looked better. The behringer logos had to go. Still have to try the XLR DI out. Grab one for $70. Too cheap not too. |

I had the old one. I mostly play clean, but the overdriven tones were good too, on my strat. On my tele, I couldn't get a good out of it, like I can through my Fender Champ.
Yes, not a loud 30W.

It won't break, it's made in CHINA where everything is made, even VOX amps. 8)
For $70 it's a real good deal. I wanted a Valve JR combo but they are $140 and it would be too loud even at 5 watts to get good bedroom level overdrive. Maybe I'll add a Fender logo to the grill |

Got one of these in on repair. The input jack was broke. Hell, I didn't want to call the guy to tell him it was done. I could get the best damn Marshall sound with it
I ordered one two day ago |

Congrats Bluescube on your new amp purchase, you got a bargain. I have the Vintager older model and love it. Your post made me fire it up and spend the past 2 hours playing with it, a terrific praticing tool. I even like the cleans with a single coil... it can sound good at low volumes. It isn't professional level , but in the practice room, who cares?! I too took off the logo and the thing looks terrific. Really classic style. I believe that you dont always have to pay alot to get something of value , although most the time that is true. I've seen alot of big name garbage, and no- name quality. I hate to think of all the young guys who would miss out on stuff like this as they start out, because of "brand snobs" discouraging them, when they dont have alot of money. It isn't so much what you play, as the heart that you put into playing. Also the joy you get out of it, that's what it is all about isn't it? |

I've had a GMX110 for a few years and really like it.
Noticed the mid range control acts not only for getting depth but also volume. I pretty much set it 8-10 for single coils Fender type or P90. It is pretty sensitive to the gain control also but usually just set it 2-3 for the "British" channel. The clean does good Fender. I set vol and master pretty much 8-10 and just use the guitar volume and tone from there. Like the reverbs, slow delay, slow tremolo and some other effects on it, but just use reverb and delay some most of the time. effects

In the Washington D.C. area, electrical repair run between $55-$60 an hour.
Most have a minimum "evaluation fee' of: $50. Of course the overworked/underpaid tech gets $10-$20 tops!! That's why I'm an "ex-tech"! |

Checked out the MF web-site on the amp.
Comes with a one year parts & labor warranty. Truthfully, for the money, it's a STEAL!! And if it breaks after one year (if YOU can't fix it): TOSS IT!! In my area, dinner, drink, & tip with the wife & kids, runs MORE than the cost of this amp! IF I hadn't just purchased a Roland Cube. I'd BUY THIS, in 2 seconds flat! GREAT DEAL!!! |

Took my own advice, and bought it despite the new Roland Cube.
Will keep as a back-up/2nd amp. And yes the Roland is really THAT good. With a 3 year parts & labor warranty to boot. If it breaks, I'll fix it. It's the labor costs that kill you! Most electrical components are dirt cheap! Just TOO good a buy to pass up! BTW: The kids like Burger King anyway. |
