'67 Ampeg Reverberocket 2 speaker recomendations
Picked up a '67 Ampeg Reverberocket 2. Very good condition except loaded with non-original re-issue Jensen P12-R 25watt alnico.
I like the way the Jensen sounds - warm with nice breakup but I'm wondering if there's a better speaker that's slightly more efficient with tighter bottom end- maybe some kind of Weber? Thanks |

I had one of those for awhile. They can be great sounding amps. Mine had an Eminence Legend ceramic in it, which wasn't bad, but I think if I still had the amp I would try an Eminence Cannabis Rex. The C. Rex that I put in my Fender MMB sounds great.

I thought that the 12F150 was just OK in this amp. The high end was still a little bit too uncontrolled. For high-volume playing, I like this amp with a stiffer, darker speaker. The Cannibis Rex might be good, as well as the Red, White & Blues. I liked the Weber 12A125 at lower volumes, and it was efficient, but at high volumes, the highs were a little crazy and the lows were not so tight. My favorite with this amp was the Weber California, but if you're looking for speaker breakup, this won't have it.

For an Emmi, I would recommend either a Swamp Thang or a Tonker. |
