does it work?

How does it sound?

what are the tubes?

Does it have a little schematic in it? I have seen a similar amp with the schematic in it.

looks like a bluesy rocker

Looks a lot like a Harmony 400a I used to own - weird tubes and a shock hazard because of the tranny configuration as I recall. Sounded cool in a lo-fi bluesy way. What kind of speaker is that? The Harmony had an excellent Jensen Alnico - that looks to be alnico as well.

For 50 dolla how can ya holla?

It does have weird tubes.. I couldn't pick it up when I found it.... so, I'll let you know the rest tomorrow.. yeah, it sounds cool... the speaker appears to be original, my thought on this one is a couple fold... first, if it is cool once I've got it and played it.. cool...but, if it is funky and not cool, then I start learning some stuff... or use the cab as something to hold some beast that Johnny Crash talks me into....

I don't need an amp, I've got a tone king on the way, but I thought this would be a cheap diversion while I wait.

I did a little better one time, price wise anyway. A friend of my dad gave me a little amp that he had bought new from Sears in 1959 along with his Silvertone (Dano) guitar. It made cool overdrive sounds when cranked wide open. I don't even remember what tube complement it had or what happened to it. He wouldn't part with the guitar however, even when I offered to buy it from him.

that sounds like a fun amp.. I've had a bunch of supros over the years that I got for practically nothing and eventually sold because I could get from 5.00 to 75.... this guy allegedly has a treasure trove of old funky amps and if it is the case, it'll be fun to see them and get some of them back in circulation....

That is clearly a ceramic magnet speaker. Note the shape and the color. Just thought I would point that out....

Not alnico -

At first glance it looked like a low horseshoe shape - I guess that IS awfully flat for such - so ceramic I imagine it is.

Did not know that the color - of the magnet? - is indicative as well - but it stands to reason.

I've played through a few Alamos - there always seems to be one at the local shop and a few friends keep 'em in thier collections.
With out a doubt, the cheapest tube amp around. Great for low-fi rock stuff!
