I fit one into a Princeton so a Deluxe shouldn't be too hard...
I would do a test fit before cutting the hole in the new baffle...You may need to offset it slightly to one side and/or rotate the speaker so the speaker frame clears the chassis components.

I have DRs that bracket yours in age
I have a BF and SF and both of them work happily with a JBL. I predict you'll like that JBL a lot.
