early 60's dulxe reverb

my local guitar center has one an origanl silverface for 999.99. it beat to hell but sounds great 1x12 all tube. good deal?

or how about the 5 deluxe reverb orignal fr 2999.99. sounds funny i liked the silver face

Silverfaced is not early 60s.

It's more like 70s.

If you like it and it sounds awesome, it depends on your budget.

Looks aint much to me, so I'd pay that much for a great sounding amp that looks like hell - have it checked out though, to make sure it's guts are tip-top.

If the filter capacitors are original, try ot get em to drop the price... old electrolytic caps are just waiting to dry out and die.

Then, you could solder new ones in, in about 5 minutes and have a cheap tune-up!

This amp started life as a 72' Deluxe reverb that I found at my local GC for $425. It was really dogged out. Just so happens I know a local amp guru that would be able to fix it up for me. I added another $250 for new grill,tolex,tubes and blackfaceing the circuitry. I also did the bright mod to take alot of the treble bite out of the tone.
