EV 12L in Deluxe Reverb??

Anyone running/ran a EV 12L in a SF Deluxe Reverb? I have a EV available and I'm curious how it would work in a DR. I play mainly country with some blues and classic rock thrown in. Thanks in advance for any feedback you can give me.

If you want to hear what a DR, or any amp for that matter, sounds like without coloration from a speaker, the EV is the way to go, imo.

Is this model the one with the white "coffee can" magnet (alnico)? If so, I have one in my BFDR right now and it fits (just barely) and works very well. The only issue is its weight. The amp is a whole lot heavier with the EV. It seems louder than the P12N and there isn't any speaker-generated breakup. Great warm, clean sound.

I got a couple of baffle boards made and I've mounted various speakers to the baffles so it's easy for me to switch them out. I just lay the amp on its face, undo the four screws and lift the amp off one baffle and onto another that's lying on the floor next to it. I am enjoying switching between a vintage P12N, JBL D120F and EV SRO/12. All three speakers have their own characteristics and it's almost like having three amps in one, all great. My SFDR has a "permanent" baffle and it has the Weber 12A150 in it. Also a great speaker.

Could not agree more. I like em so much that for years now I have been using a pair of EV studio monitors in my audio system.

The EVM12L IS NOT the EV alnico "coffee can" speaker...

...but it's a fine speaker non-the-less. Give it a whirl in your DR!

I've got 'em in both my '64 BFDR and my early '90s Blues Deluxe. Scored a pair for $75 some years ago.

As mentioned, these speakers are HEAVY. But the low end is nice and tight and the highs are smooth and very clear, though still kinda hi-fi. I play surf, lounge, rythmn 'n' blues, rock, country and the EVs work great for everything. and are impossible to "fart out" as they're rated for 150 watts.

BTW< those EVs are now marketed as the Zakk Wylde signature models. :)
