Playing acoustic/electric through tube PA amps question
I know that the usual electric guitar amp is not voiced for acoustic guitar but I have a ten watt tube pa amp and a ten inch speaker which is voiced for bass guitar but with an added tweeter(the speaker manufacturer says)the speaker becomes usable for general, wide range pa work.
So,if I build a cab,for the bass speaker, add a tweeter and drive the cab with the pa amp I assume I would get a decent sound for acoustic/electric guitar? Malcolm

Depending on the PA and how it is voiced it should sound fine. I have an Eminar 100 watt PA head with 4 6L6s and it sounds great with vocals or acoustic guitars. The standard preamp channels sound like doggie-doo with an electric, but if I plug straight into the FX return it is fine, so voicing of the circuits may be quite different to a conventional guitar amp.
If you have two inputs, a high and low I'd try in both but most piezo-pickup preamped acoustics will probably sound better in the 'low' input.
