I admit it - I sniped this one in the last 10 minutes. Although the brand says Diason, the features like the gold beading and construction scream 'Rose Morris Australia'. My friend has a very similar Goldentone, down to chassis, knobs, an even tube compliment. The tagstrip totally PTP layout is typical, too. Often they used standoffs on the tube sockets to fit the extra components in.
RM made amps for all sorts of people - the same guy is auctioning a 40 watt-rated Goldentone Bassmaster head similar to an amp I posted about a while back with top-cap 6DQ6A sweep-tubes.
These little amps use 6GW8s in push-pull fixed bias, which have a pentode section and a triode in one tube. The pentode section has similar characteristics to an EL84, and the pentode to half a 12AX7. The tube driven tremolo usually off one power tube triode is especially sweet - hopefully the 'echo' which is really reverb is, too. I'm betting the reverb is driven off the pentode of the third 6GW8 and recovered off using the triode section.
I fitted one of the Hi-Flux speakers to the Bassmaster I rejuvenated. They are a cool and sharpish-sounding alnico, often used in stereos and 60's TVs.
