This is just stupid!!!

Mix 1 part Pignose with 2 parts boredom in the wood shop and you get...

The MarshHog I got so sick of having an old Hog sitting around that although a pretty good little ss amp, sucked with the 6" spkr it came with so why not rig it to drive cabinets? Clip one wire on the hp jack and replace one resistor with a jumper on the pcb and you have a full power spkr output The cabinet and the "PORK" logo...well, forgive me.

Always admired craftsmanship.

Great looking cabinet.

Have you applied a finish?

No finish, not even sealed yet , it was a spur of the moment build. The original idea was for a tweed deluxe cab with a greenback and the same chassis but the head was a faster build and the combo is in the works.

Excellent work! I wish I had the skills (& tools & space) to build cabinets like you! Meanwhile, I covet the Vibro Champ head sitting behind it. Tasty looking and I bet it sounds fantastic through a 1x12" (or even better, a 2x12") cabinet.

Thanks very much Greg. I really enjoy the woodwork to the point that its the same as music...Its not work, it just has to be and it has to be the best I can make it. It feels so good to do it properly.

That is a heavily modded SFVC in that box that can morph between tweed/bf and mix features of both for some interesting sounds. I have only used it through the stock 8" Oxford alnico (blows), 73 Marshall 4x12/orig. greenbacks wired 4 ohm (like God) and the stock Celestion BS 90w in my Mesa (like big fat clean Fender) but I suspect it could hold its own through any decent quality cab. beautiful woodworking

so, do tell, was it router work on the box joints, or did you use a stacked dado on a table saw if you don't mind revealing?

The box joints were cut with a router using an Incra Ultra/Intellifence setup and a 1/4" straight bit. I love the accuracy of the system but sometimes those joints come out so tight that there is almost no room for glue!

Pork, Now that's funny!

Tell me about that Incra Ultra/Intellifence, all I found by googling it was stuff for a router table that looked like it was good for rounding over stuff not fingerjoints or dovetails.

Here is the Incra site http://www.incra.biz/index.html . Go to the router fence section and have a look at the current lineup. My rig is about 10 years old now so some of the names and features may have changed but look at the LS super system for essentially what I have. Its an incredibly versatile tool and can produce some wild joints that would be very hard or impossible to pull off any other way. A bit pricey but worth every cent!

How could I forget...the logo
