ceramic and alnico speakers?

could someone kind of sum up the characteristics of these 2 types of speakers for me? I am shopping for a new speaker, but I really don't know a ton about them.

I am interested in a Cannabis Rex speaker from it's description and I guess it's a ceramic magnet?

I preferr Alnico over Cermaic. Granted Alnico cost more, but the tone is better the Ceramic. I haven't heard a Ceramic that I like yet

I kind of felt the same way until I heard a 12F150 with a 50 oz magnet and light dope. Really changed my opinions of ceramics, at least Ted's ceramics. I'd be happy to have an identical speaker in my BFDR.

You mean like Greenbacks or an old Jensen C speaker? The "Alnico is better than Ceramic" is a truism that doesn't always pan out, IMO. There's lots of very fine ceramics when matched in the right rig. I've heard Alnico's that sounded pretty flatulent.

Someone mentioned the Weber 12F150...sheesh, that's one of the best twelves ever.

Like I said I have yet to hear Ceramic that sounds good. That doesn't mean I can't change my opinion. Just right now I happen to like Alnico magnets.

I also like alnicos. But don't diss ceramics until you hear a 12F150.

Well I have heard the Sound clip of the 12F150 and it's not bad, but what I haven't heard is the 12F150 with the light dope that everyone is raving about so if some has a sound clip that is a minute and half (preferr a 1mb file please.) I would be more the happy to listen to it.
