Tale of Two Tweed Deluxes - Fender & Clark
Both of these amps were side by side.
The Clark had a JBL speaker in it, which (I thought) made the bass response a little heavy. The Clark was cleaner and louder. $1250 The Fender had the mojo. I think it needs some tweaking, because the tone got fuzzy as the sound decayed (weak rectifier?). Non-original handle, Weber Alnico speaker, didn't look close enough to see xformers, etc. Rect was RCA. $1650 Comments? |

Tex, are you talkin vintage Fender? If you are
, like i think you are, to me they are two dif. animals. Cap job would seem like the fix for what you are talkin about. However they will still be vastly dif. from one another. Again, to me, the Fender if healthy and a nice speaker would always be my choice. I use a '54 Deluxe/ Jensen RI P12N and there is no equal. Also, it will always be worth WAY more. As every minute ticks by it goes up in value. Only my opinion though.Good Luck! |
