Design To Fit (D2F) amp covers

If you're looking for a nice cover for your guitar amps, check out Design To Fit brand. I just got one for my Two Rock combo amp, and its pretty dang nice. It costs $55 with tax, which is about $30 less than Tuki would charge. The stiching and fit is perfect. The material they use appears to be identical to the Tuki cover for my Dr. Z amp, but with slightly less padding. The difference in padding is marginal, and I doubt that the Tuki cover offers better protection. The D2F cover is also easier to fold up and store. There are a lot of cover companies out there, but I think the D2F are the best value, and a good investment to protect an expensive amp.

Let me add my "Me, too!" I have three of his covers and I really like them. Perfect fit and good protection.

Likewise, no affiliation with the business.

I have to laugh, though, at their "colors" page. Reminds me of Henry Ford:

"any color you want, as long as it's black."

Studio Slips

I had "Studio Slips" make a cover for my Old Flame head. I'm very satisfied with the results.

Re: Studio Slips

The Studio Slips covers are comparable to the Tuki and D2F covers for quality, but a bit expensive. I have one that came with an amp head, and it's well made.

Its a shame that amplifier companies don't offer covers like these, especially for expensive amps. The thin vinyl covers are better than nothing, but don't offer nearly as much protection as a padded cover. Hauling gear around is rough on an amp, and a padded cover is a smart investment. My 6 year old Dr. Z amp looks virtually brand new, and its seen a lot of gigs. Looking at the difference a vintage amp is worth in mint condition far outweighs the cost of any of these amp covers.

D2F covers

Both my brother and I purchased D2F covers for our Fender Deluxe Reverb RI amps before Xmas. The covers fit perfectly.

I liked it so much I ordered a custom made cover for my Garnet Banshee. Once again a perfect fit. :D

Needless to say I highly recommend D2F. Tom makes a great product.

DIY

As mentioned above, I bought a cover for my amp head, but I also have two speaker cabs that I made covers for myself. I'm not a sewing whiz or anything, but in an afternoon with some heavy duty canvas I put together a couple of nice looking (as long as you're looking at them in a dark bar) and very functional covers. I put a piece of fiberboard in front to protect the speaker. All told, I probably spent $10.

Another good source for amp covers

A couple of years ago I got a very nice custom-made Princeton Reverb amp cover from our own TDPRI member, Michael Goldring. Very reasonably priced, too. :-) Not as heavy-duty as a Tuki-type cover, but definitely gig-worthy.

Anyway, Michael's username is "Ringo" and his email address is mgoldri1@midsouth.rr.com. Highly recommended. – CS
