I've got a Weber Ferromax in my 66' BFDR but am looking to put in something that will break up quicker and be a little 'warmer' with less high end...using a tele...any sugggestions? running 6L6's...would going back to 6V6's help? Thanks. later.

The change back to 6V6s would be a step in the right direction.

You absolutely need to go back to 6V6s. And a tube rectifier if you have switched to ss. Get a pair of JJ 6V6s and bias them on the warm side.

You didn't mention *which* Weber model you were using, there's so many, that we need to know the starting point in order to make any further recommendations on speaker choice. Don't forget that Tes is willing to make specials, all you have to do is call him and ask. Sadly, a "warmer" speaker and one with more breakup may be diametrically opposed. for example, his warmest 12" may be the 12A150, but it's also going to have a lot of headroom. The 12A100 will definitely break up sooner, but it's also a lot brighter. You might also want to look at using his beam blockers, they help control high end.
