Amp settings question
I use a Peavey C50. On your amp settings what do you usually do when it comes to the bass, mids, treble? I seem to have problems getting this set right. I end up with my tone control on my guitar all the way up. Where am I going wrong?
Help Thanks HW |

The tone control on your guitar should be all the way up. That's the normal position. Try setting your tone controls flat and work from there...set everything at half -- on the amp -- and adjust more or less as you need it. This is always a safe starting point.

As for amp tone controls, I usually start with everything at zero and go from there. I've not played a Peavey Classic (20, 30 or 50) so I don't know how interactive the tone controls are. On some amps, the mids have an affect on the highs or lows, etc. That's why I typically start at zero and move things up to taste.

I tend to agree with Joe-Bob on the beginning settings...in the middle works for me as a starting place. |
