Vox Valvetronix AD60VTH

Hello Folks,

I have been going back and forth with myself for a while now on buying one of these. Well, last night I was weak and hit the ole BIN button on ebay and have a head version coming my way.. I just joined a classic rock after many years and selling my Marshall's long ago. I have been on the fence on selling the Vibroverb RI anyway so I figured I give this thing a try.

Does anyone own one of these, if so, what do you think?

I have one of the smaller Valvetronix amps and the Marshall JCM800 model is one of the best on the amp. The various Vox models are nice as well. I've been toying with the possibility of upgrading to the AD60VTX myself.

I have the AD30VT model, they're amazing amps! They can fool my ears into thinking it's all valve!
The Blackface and AC30 models with just a touch of OD sound amazing.
The voltage control is hugely useful too, lets you drive the amp at any volume you like.

I've got the AD50VT. It's a great amp for the money. To my ears it sounds the best with P90's, but there are so many tone possibilities just about any guitar will do. I would advise getting a Bad Monkey to use with it. I run that with the AC15 model, and it kicks that sound into tonal heaven.

I'll agree on the P-90s, at least on the Vox models for sure. I've never been thrilled with it with a stock strat singles, but a tele bridge pickup sounds real good too. And of course the HBs in my Les Paul sound cool on the Marshall models.

P90's do go very nice with it, as my Tele will confirm. :D

But the REAL tone IMHO is when you use a strat, Middle+Neck position on the Blackface model with the master and normal volume cranked right up, the gain at about 8 o'clock, EQ: middle cranked, bass+treble at halfway position.

Once all that's done you have instant SRV tone by the bucket load. :D
