Big "mistake " with my Pro Jr.

Picked up a Tweed one recently. Loved it the way it was til I plugged it into a 1x12 cab. Boxzy sound was gone. I bought it for Harp, so it will be good for that. If I play guitar through it I'll use the cab. I have a classic 30 tweed ext cab with the closed back. I'm gonna replace the speaker. I thought I'd try a Swamp Thang. Can anyone tell me about open vs closed cab? Also, I took the back panel off the amp to check things out. Before I did this amp was pretty quiet. After I put screws back in the amp had a loud hum. I backed off the center screw and it was quiet again. So this backing off of the screw is no myth. If yours is loud , back that screw out as far as you need too to calm it down!!
