hotrod deluxe floor stand that's pee proof...

hey guys... hows this for a first post :)

i have a hotrod deluxe amp. i would like to keep it in my living room instead of locked up in my closet so when i pull out my new american custom tele i don't have to lug everything around and can just flip it on. here's the problem...

i have these two great best buddy samoyed dogs. my "boy" dog occassionally likes to take a leak on new or unusual stuff that's on the floor (i NEVER leave a guitar on the floor) it's not an everyday problem, but it does happen unfortunately. i wouldn't think his peein on my tube amp will improve the sound or make the tubes sound better so i don't want to take a chance. can anyone reccomend an amp stand that will put it up high enough that he would have to pee uphill to reach it and i can fold up when i want to move it. that'll take care of the whole problem, cause like i said it doesn't happen often, never on the floor or furniture, but don't want to take a chance with something electric. i wish i had a big cabinet that would hold it but i don't so i'm thinkin one of the metal stands. none of the stores around me have any to look at so i'm gonna have to order it.

thanks

les

These work pretty well:

Also, take your dogs for a drive by the local dog pound, and explain to them that if they ever pee on your gear, that's where they'll end up! :)

thanks for the post nub. it's more of a fear than a reality. he hasn't done it for a long time since he was a puppy, but he is all boy doggie... :) i just don't want to worry about it. the new tele is so damn beautiful i guess i'm bein over pretective, but when i keep things in cases i never use em.

i'm just a beginner on the guitar so i need to practice... a lot...

how about just a regular old small table of some sort? I payed $7 at a garage sale for the table that's holding my TV. Spent a few hours stripping the old flaking stain off and wiping new stain on and it doesn't look half bad. I bet if you make a visit to the local thrift store you'll find something worth using.

I would consider Scotchguard. Urine, vomit, beer, etc., will just bead up and could be wiped away.

the thrift store thing is a good idea. i wish i was in florida cause they got some great thrift stores there and i bet i could find a really nice one. i read about a guy who found a blues jr. at one for 30 bucks...actually... i was wondering if i could find a nice piece with drawers in it that i could use for storing cd's. i have two guitars. a nylon and the new tele. if i could find something that i could put stands on and keep the guitars on top of and the amp too that would be great. i admit to wanting to keep em in the living room so i can doodle at night when i'm watchin tv and that would make it really convenient.

now i gotta find a decent teacher in my area... sounds easy in theory. in practice it ain't so.... :( anybody from around wexford pa outside of pgh?

I just moved to Florida! About a month ago, haven't had too much time to hit up the pawn shops and thrift stores around here but the one I did stop in had an old Kent P-bass for $40, didn't look worth it but it was nice seeing that kind of thing in a thrift store. I was born and raised in Michigan and I have to say it was far and few between to find an item like that in a store like that.
