microcube sounds really bad with headphones and rec. out
hello!
i own a roland microcube. it is quite good for what it is, so to say... but: when i hook the rec.out to my computer, the sound is awful, distorted in the most ugly way and totally useless. same for headphones. is this the way it is, or is mine just bad? i would really like to use it for direct recording "on the road". but with that sound it is not possible. eddie |

Sounds like a bad Cube
My Microcube (rec out) sounds pretty good through headphones and good enough through a PA that I've used it successfully as an emergency backup at a gig when my regular amp died. In fact, one of the benefits of the rec out jack is that it bypasses the power section, so you don't get that clipping (farting out on low notes) on the clean models (especially the Twin model).
Anyway, it sounds like you might have a defective Microcube. I've never tired plugging it into my computer, though. There may be an issue there (?) |

i've recorded with mine, running first into a small behringer mixer, then to the notebook. i've heard better tone, but it's satisfactory for laying down ideas and whatnot. Here is something I did with the microcube, blackface model.
disclaimer: I won't dazzle you with my tone or playing. no, seriously.
