one power tube?

Hey all,

I saw an add for a twin reverb reissue. The guy said that he only played with one power tube to cut the volume. Did that destroy the amp or is it ok to play with one power tube?

Thanks in advance

Hopefully he meant he pulled 2 of the 4 power tubes -- folks do that. I don't think running on 1 would even work.

It'll work, but it sure won't sound too good.
