Warm 10" for a Princeton Reverb?

What's a warm 10" that would be a good speaker for a Princeton Reverb? I have an Eminence Cannabis Rex in my DR and I love it. Is there anything equivalent in a 10" speaker? I tried the Eminence Ragin Cajun but didin't like it...too loud and up front. Suggestions? Thanks.

Try A Weber w/ AlNiCo magnet

Coyotemorgan,

I've got an AlNiCo Weber 10-inch in my '65 Princeton (BF) and it's great. Give Weber a look. Good luck!

I am very impressed with the Eminence Legend 105. It has an incredible tonal range and a warm bass respomse.

It's also not very expensive.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll look into them. By the way, eggman, which Weber alnico do you have? Thanks.

You want warm? No sweat. Weber 10A150 or 10F150. They're as warm as it gets.

I put a Weber alnico Blue Pup in my Princeton (non-reverb) and love it. But, I don't know if I would call it "warm". It makes me want to play a.....shall I say it?.....Strat through the amp.

I think the 10A150 or 10F150 would probably fit your requirements better.

When did they make Princeton Reverbs?

I have a silverface Princeton with tremolo but no reverb. What time period did they make Princetons with reverb and were they the same power rating and all?...........JH in Va.

Princeton Reverb amps were made during the BF and SF eras. 1964 as a start? And I've seen SFs as late as 79.

The Princeton and Princeton Reverb had identical output sections, same power.

I've got a Weber 10A-125

CoyoteMorgan,

My speaker is a 10A-125. It's AlNiCo, as I've posted already. This amp/speaker delivers "smoking" tone with my ES-335 at high volume ( good overdrive) and is useful with all my other electrics as well. My Rickenbacker 360/6 sounds big and warm as well through this nice amp/speaker. Good luck!
