NAD: Swart AST Master 112 is in the house!
Picked it up today. Having it sit in the store for the last month and a half while I paid it down was good: anticipation.
This one has the Celestion G12 Gold in it. Night and day to the G12H30. I replaced the stock JJ 6V6s with Tung Sol and replaced the GZ34 with a 5Y3 to accomodate the lower wattage Tung Sol tubes. Sweet, warm, lush break up.

Hautingly...yes, it is quite similar, though amazing the difference with the Gold in it. I bought the Hot Rod in December of 2011. Love it. It's my favorite electric. The neck is amazing, and the mini-humbucker just does it for me. It's heavy, about the same weight as a beefy Les Paul.

The Master circuit, and definitley the size of the cab are what make this amp. If it was in a smaller cab it wouldn't sound as good. I compared it to a Swart STR Tremelo, and the cab made a noticeable difference.

My only real beef with it is that the master control is not foot switchable, which could be an issue for a gigging musician, of which I am not, so it's not that big of a deal for me. I sent Michael and email asking about that. I'm interested to know how difficult it would be to retrofit it with that feature, which would also require a three button foot switch, as oppossed to the two button box that it comes with (for reverb and trem). |

That sounds like a plan....I only know of Geoff through here but I think it would be great to set something up. I'm 45 min north of TO but I pop down to the 12th fret quite often on weekends

Hey TS, yes, it truely does sound incredible, whether in clean or master mode. I've yet to try my Strat with it yet, but I'm betting it's going to be just as amazing. What a differnce a different speaker can make.
