celestion blue g12?

are these as great as some say?
money no concern, do they have a tone edge over webers version?
I`ve also heard rumors they are now made in china?

I've not heard a better 12. I participated in a shootout a few years ago, about 20 various current and vintage speakers, all mounted in identical cabs with a 3 way switch to just click between 3 at a time. That speaker finished on top of everyone's list.

If you like the sound of the Vox AC30, it's about half due to those speakers. They sound great with lots of amps. They have a definite sonic character to them that doesn't sound like anything else. They're better sounding than the Weber equivalents by at least a moderate margin.

A nice speaker...

but alot depends on your amp. its condition, your guitar, and what you are use to hearing..I had one in a AC-15 RI...It was OK..not a huge deal compared to the ceramic speaker that was in originaly, at least to my ears..A friend bought one and put it in a SF DR..much bigger improvement. Depending on what you want and where you are coming from the Weber may be a better value, but the Celestion will probaly make some improvement in just about any smallish 1X12 combo.

I think the MIC confusion stems from a series of 8 and 10'ceramic speakers that Vox has used in various ss amps in the last couple of years..some are blue and made off shore, and some are even labled as Celestions.(design input I suppose) not bad speakers, but they are not in any way comparable to the Alinco Blue which to the best of my knowledge is still UK production.
