In your opinion who makes the best amps for blues? Include models

My opinion the peavey delta blues 115 is hands down the best I've ever had

The Blues is in the fingers not the amp.

I love my DB115 but I'm not sure it's the best amp out there.

That's like asking "who's the best guitar player"?

There is no definitive answer. Is a Dumble ODS or SSS better than a vintage Bassman, or an original JTM45, or a Trainwreck Rocket, or a Blackface Vibroverb etc. etc. etc. Like breasts without nipples, a pointless discussion.

Yeah, any time you go down the "best" road, you're generally headed for a bit of controversy. Better to just ask "What's a good amp for Blues?"

That said, a good amp for blues is...a Peavey Delta Blues. Yeah, I agree that a PDB does blues well. And here are some guys that think the same thing.

Chicago 50's blues - Tweed Fenders and 50's Gibson amps
Jump Blues - Tweed Fenders and reverb tanks
Hill Country Blues - Peavey and a few cheapo off brand (Valco, Silverone, Oahu, National, Supro, etc) tube amps
2nd Generation Chicago Blues and Texas Blues - BF and SF Fenders

You can disagree but look at the pics and videos of the masters and what I said is basically gospel of the players in their prime.

What do you think of the 210 version of the Delta Blues?

Here's why, and I'm not trying to be a jerk. There's no such thing as a blues amp. Yeah, they say "Blues" in the name sometimes, but the sound we all want for blues is so subjective in the first place, that what is perfect for one guy doesn't grab another. I have a Peavey Bandit 112 Transtube and I can get any sound I want for blues or anything else with the knobs on my amp and guitar. I know you are just trying to start a conversation and get some discussion going, but as ASC said, the blues really isn't about guitar tone when it's all said and done. It is in the heart of the guy playing it. If all he has is a Teisco guitar and a Sears solid state amp, he can still wail the blues.

I heard Robin Ford a few years ago playing a Fender Red Knob Twin

and it totally, hands down the best sounding thick bluesy sound I've ever heard

I found this on youtube

There are only blues players, not blues amps.

Albert Collins - Quad Reverb.
Albert King - Acoustic 270.
Freddie King - GA40.

It's all over the map.

Any piece o' crap amp that will make noise. Anyone who tells you different is as far removed from real Blues as I am from Klezmer.
