That's like asking "who's the best guitar player"?
There is no definitive answer. Is a Dumble ODS or SSS better than a vintage Bassman, or an original JTM45, or a Trainwreck Rocket, or a Blackface Vibroverb etc. etc. etc. Like breasts without nipples, a pointless discussion. |

Yeah, any time you go down the "best" road, you're generally headed for a bit of controversy. Better to just ask "What's a good amp for Blues?"
That said, a good amp for blues is...a Peavey Delta Blues. Yeah, I agree that a PDB does blues well. And here are some guys that think the same thing.

Chicago 50's blues - Tweed Fenders and 50's Gibson amps
Jump Blues - Tweed Fenders and reverb tanks Hill Country Blues - Peavey and a few cheapo off brand (Valco, Silverone, Oahu, National, Supro, etc) tube amps 2nd Generation Chicago Blues and Texas Blues - BF and SF Fenders You can disagree but look at the pics and videos of the masters and what I said is basically gospel of the players in their prime. |

I heard Robin Ford a few years ago playing a Fender Red Knob Twin
and it totally, hands down the best sounding thick bluesy sound I've ever heard I found this on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgb186N-PZI |
