Intresting Pro Reverb Discovery
I've been playing a 1973 AA270 Pro Reverb as my main amp for about 2 months now and i never really looked in the back of the 15" baffle it has. (ironic cause i took numerous looks inside the chassis). To my surprise, it has a Electro-Voice EVM-15L speaker in it (though as i also discovered, with numerous rips in the cone). Interesting mojo right! Just thought I'd share

You should easily be able to fix the rips in the cone. I use small pieces of black construction paper and I put glue on one side of the const. paper and I place the patch over the tear, from the back. I have fixed many speakers like this. The EV is a great speaker. I have one but it's still in the original box.

Who was the guy in the 60s who used to rip his speakers to get a distinct tone? His name escapes me...might have been Link Wray but not sure.
